But First, Elimination

I've recently started counting my macros. I just can’t seem to get the scale to move???

What are your thoughts on intermittent fasting? I need to lose weight before I start building muscle.

I've been on several diets and trends but unsuccessful on every attempt. I'm in need of professional guidance.

These are just a few of the hundreds of messages that the Swolenormous team receives every week.

What if I told you that 90% of these questions could be resolved with one, simple word?

Elimination

This is where you need to start.

Whether you're just starting your fitness journey or have been working out for years, you shouldn't be focusing on your caloric intake, nutrition lifestyle or any other little detail until you determine the most optimal foods for YOUR body.

Some of the foods you're eating might be causing you bloating, inflammation, fatigue, migraines, or joint pain and are stopping you from achieving your fitness goals.

This is why it's important that you go through an elimination diet to find out which foods YOUR body reacts best to.

This is the first and most important step in getting your nutrition on track.

The Elimination Process

Eliminate all highly inflammatory foods from your diet for 4-6 weeks to identify potential food sensitivities and intolerances.

#1 Elimination Phase

Eliminate the following foods from your diet for 4-6 weeks to "reset" your body.
  • Legumes
  • Nuts and Seeds
  • Processed and Grain-fed Meat & Fish
  • Gluten, wheat, and grains
  • Dairy
  • Processed Fats & Oils
  • Processed Sugar
  • Caffeine
  • Alcohol

During this time period, eat high-quality foods including grass-fed meats, wild fish, fruits, vegetables, healthy fats, and fresh herbs and spices.

#2 Re-introduction Phase

Once your elimination is complete, re-introduce these foods one at a time and observe your body's responses. Take note on how your body reacts. If this food is causing bloating, headaches, acne, or any other negative responses, consider eliminating this food from your diet long term.

The more strict you are with your elimination the better you will be able to learn which foods are optimal for you.

Our members have been extremely successful following this approach. Here's what they have to say on their experiences with the  elimination process.

I feel more connected to my body and it's responses... It's been a real eye-opening experience, and even though sometimes it sucked, (caffeine/sugar withdrawals) I wouldn't trade this time I've spent on myself for anything.

- Mistie Anderson

My stomach and overall body deflated literally, like a balloon. The swelling and bloating in my stomach was unreal. I lost 10 lbs in 5 days and my deemed "high cholesterol" is the lowest the doctor has ever seen.

-Kasey King‎

So far in 10 weeks, I have lost 43 pounds and feel amazing and full of energy. I feel so good and have no desire to reintroduce any of that stuff into my diet. What's the point since I love what I'm eating and feel awesome!
